Cameron Norrie will be hoping to get past the first week of a grand slam for the first time in his career; he has made it to the third round of all four grand slams, but has never been to the fourth round.

The British number 1 has not enjoyed his best run of form lately, having lost three of his last five matches; however, he looked really solid in the first round, knocking out Pablo Andujar in straight sets.

Cameron Norrie will have to get past an in-form Jaume Munar if he intends to advance to the third round; it’ll be interesting to see how the World number 12 matches up against the Spaniard.

Just like Cameron Norrie, Jaume Munar has never gone past the first week of a grand slam in his career; in fact, this is actually Munar’s best performance in this tournament, or in any grand slam for that matter.

The 25 year old is coming off a straight sets victory over Thiago Monteiro, his first ever victory on grass; he has one win and nine losses in 10 total matches on grass courts. Despite his poor record on this surface however, Munar is coming into this match with a lot of confidence; he has nine wins in his last 11 matches across all competitions.

Will the World number 71 advance to the third round of a grand slam for the first time in his career?

Cameron Norrie match prediction

Tip 1: Jaume Munar to win at least one set

To be fair, Jaume Munar is more of a clay court specialist; he has not done too well on grass, having won just one of 10 matches on this surface. However, it’s worth mentioning that Munar faced off with Cameron Norrie in Rio last year, emerging victorious in three sets.

Also, Munar won nine of his last eleven matches, while Norrie suffered three losses in his last five matches. We believe that Cameron Norrie will win this match; considering both players’ recent form however, Munar should be able to take a set.

Tip 2: Over 30.5 total games

These players met last year, in a very tight contest; that encounter had two tiebreakers, with 38 total games over three sets.

We would like to point out that four of Jaume Munar’s last five matches ended in maximum sets. We believe there will be at least four sets in this match, that’s why we’re going with the over 30.5 games option.
